A 12 gauge slug. Unlike birdshot or buckshot, slugs are a single large projectile fired from a shotgun. They're mostly used for hunting bigger game, or for longer range shots where typical buck may spread out more. Not as lethal as buckshot in certain ranges, but much more accurate and with a longer range, and is more effective against armor.
