The KA-BAR was developed by the United States Marine Corps in 1942 by modifying hunting knife designs to be more soldier-proof. The handle is made of stacked leather washers, and the blade is made of easy to sharpen high steel, making for a popular fighting, hunting and utility knife. The blade is marked 'USMC'.
