Iron
Materials & products
A core metal intermediate for construction and mechanical goods.
Materials & productsRecipe chain depth 32 supported recipe routes
WHY CONSIDER IT
It sits at a shared branch between building materials and machine parts, so shortages can stall both settlement and factory projects.
When it fits: Set a combined stock target before committing iron to multiple tiers.
The tradeoff: One source recipe run makes 8 and lists 8 Molten iron at Metal caster; 2 recipe variant(s) for this output are grouped together. Verify access where the pack is incomplete. Ore extraction, smelting and downstream casting are separate capacity questions; one recipe total covers only the chosen conversion.
