WHY CONSIDER IT
Recorded uses include an Iron Chest and Lightning Rod, and bars can also feed the Blast Furnace steel route.
When it fits: Smelt for iron builds or preserve bars for steel production.
The tradeoff: Needs Iron Ore or Iron Salvage Piles and a Furnace; the steel route additionally uses Coal.
