Coal (Industrial fuel and input)

Coal connects several industrial and consumer chains, and steel production also requires it alongside iron.

When it fits: Plan mine or kiln supply as soon as steel or another listed chain is on your roadmap.

The tradeoff: The listed charcoal kiln output is lower than the coal mine output; the source gives no operating modifiers.
